Wing Cheong Long Trading is one of the few traditional rice shops that still left in Macao, specializing in selling selected rice and high-quality grain and oil groceries from local and abroad. Auntie Kitty, the boss’s wife always keeps customers preferences top of mind and her cats, “Tai Fat and Sai Fat”, are very popular in the neighborhood. The time-honored brand shop followed the traditional operation mode for over half of a century and has overflowed with human warmth through the years.
Since the cats are cute and good at catching rats in the shop, they gradually become the mascots of the shop. In order to highlight the subtle relationship between foodstuffs and the cats, a series of graphics were designed and applied to the doggy bag and package design of the foodstuffs. Besides, the designer would paint graffiti to make the old shop more adorable as well. With the combination of traditional calligraphy characters and funny patterns, the designer is successful to present the friendliness and loveliness of Wing Cheong Long Trading to all customers.
